The Independent Living of the Genesee Region (ILGR) is pleased to invite the public to the opening of the newest ARTiculations Ability Exhibitions showcase featuring artist Susan Christie, where Christie will be present to discuss her work. A reception will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at ILGR, 319 West Main Street, Rear Left, Batavia, NY 14020.
Presented in partnership with the University Heights Arts Association (UHAA), this exhibition is part of the ongoing ARTiculations Ability Exhibitions, a program highlighting the creativity and perspectives of artists with disabilities across Western New York. The exhibit runs through December 31, 2025.
About the Artist
Christie’s artistic journey began at 15, when a Steven Tyler performance on the Midnight Special sparked her passion for drawing and a belief in “being who you are.” Her first portrait—of Tyler—confirmed her creative gift, nurtured by her mother and supportive teachers. Today, she draws inspiration from her children and grandchildren, sketching each of them, and creating landscapes that reflect her gratitude for the beauty of the natural world.
