JOB OVERVIEW

JOB TITLE:  Accounts Receivable Manager

DEPARTMENT:  Accounting

LOCATION:  Buffalo, NY

DIRECT SUPERVISOR:  Chief Financial Officer (CFO)


GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for overseeing the Accounts Receivable department of approximately eight (8) employees, ensuring the accuracy of all accounts receivable and producing financial management reports for a non-for-profit agency serving multiple counties with a larger consumer base.


SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Leading and assisting the Accounts Receivable team with electronic billing for Medicaid and private insurance companies.
     
  2. Liaison between electronic billing company and the agency.
     
  3. Monitor and investigate accounts receivable discrepancies.
     
  4. Produce financial and management reports that provide accurate data pertaining to revenue and collection.
     
  5. Mapping and importing billing related data between the electronic billing and general ledger accounting systems.
     
  6. Ensure the accuracy of generated billing rates.
     
  7. Prepare entries to record account receivables and revenues to the appropriate accounts.
     
  8. Work with the Corporate Compliance team regarding internal audits including but not limited to investigations and resolutions of discrepancies.
     
  9. Oversee eligibility list for Medicaid and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).
     
  10. Assist with preparation of the annual cost report and external audit.
     
  11. Attend Agency’s in-service training and staff meetings as well as any other agency related activities as required.
     
  12. Participate in maintaining a neat, clean and safe work environment.
     
  13. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Associate Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
             OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting

Professional and life experience may be considered in lieu of, in full or part of academic credentials.


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE (if required)

  • Two (2) - five (5) years of experience in an accounts receivable management role is required.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must have intermediate level of knowledge of computers including the use of Excel spreadsheets, databases, word processing and networks.
     
  • Perform in a professional, conscientious, and efficient manner for the purpose of ensuring a better quality of life for persons with disabilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Office / Community

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB:  Sitting for extended periods of time.
Occasional lifting of not more than 15 pounds.

HOURS / SHIFTS:  37.5 – 40 hours per week.
M – F  8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

CLASSIFICATION:  Full-time, salary, Exempt, Professional staff.
Range:  $55,000  -$60,000
