"Radio Reading Makes Cents" Coin Drive

Area individuals, groups and companies are now invited to give the blind a chance to read by joining this summer's "Radio Reading Makes Cents" Coin Drive, collecting spare change for the Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service. Western New York's blind and print-handicapped people depend every day on the Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service (NFRRS) — an award-winning non-profit "radio station" where Radio Reading volunteers broadcast readings of newspapers, magazines and books to our neighbors without sight, who are provided special "reading radios." Radio Reading makes sense — but this summer — Radio Reading Makes "C-E-N-T-S," as people are asked to collect and bring in their extra coins to keep the NFRRS on-the-air.

Everyone can collect their coins for the "Radio Reading Makes Cents" Coin Drive. Coins can be dropped off any time this summer at the Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service studios at 1199 Harlem Road, in Cheektowaga (between William and Clinton Streets). The annual Coin Drive helps keep Radio Reading on-the-air, and helps obtain "reading radios" for our neighbors without sight. Having the Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service gives a blind or print-handicapped person daily access to the printed matter that most of us take for granted. Companies, stores, clubs and groups can also collect coins for a good cause in great need.

Money raised by the Coin Drive will buy "reading radios" for our neighbors without sight. Donations can be mailed to: Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service, 1199 Harlem Rd., Buffalo, New York 14227. Coins can be dropped off at 1199 Harlem Road, Cheektowaga. The Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service will pick up large quantities of coins on request. Anyone who has questions about this summer's "Radio Reading Makes Cents" Coin Drive can call the Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service at 716-821-5555.
